Whilst Christine Hopton has not been teaching yoga for long she has been practising a variety of yoga styles including Iyengar and Hatha yoga on and off for more than 35 years.
Completing the 350 hours Level 1 Yoga training with Yolande Hyde and Fabio Fabbri at a Fine Balance two years ago, Christine has since been teaching 4 or 5 classes a week and caters for all levels. As a competitor in Surf Life Saving and a swim and gym coach she understands the need for a class for athletes as well as the student who wants a balanced, energising class.
Christine loves early mornings so offers an early bird class from 6am – 7am to set you up for the day, as well as an evening practice which encourages relaxation and breath work.
“Christine Hopton has been my Yoga Teacher for the past year and I hold high regard for what she has brought to each and every practice. I have always come out of her class feeling rejuvenated and energised due to her nourishment both physically and mentally. Chris creates a space that holds conscious focus and attention to ones own experience. Her attentive and personal guidance cements a supportive and soothing environment.
I love her integration of rope work and her intuitive nature in establishing a class just perfect for what I needed going in – emphasising her understanding and connection she has to her students.” – Margot
“Having first introduced me to yoga through her beginner classes at the Avalon Yoga Studio, Chris has been my yoga teacher for over a year now and her classes have become a vital part of my weekly routine and my overall wellbeing. Chris is a wonderful and knowledgeable teacher and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her classes for anyone interested in either learning yoga for the first time or those at intermediate level – I would literally go every morning if I could! The classes are great value and a great start and end to the week! “ – Adam
